Ryan Burns

After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno, Ryan joined Egghart and subsequently passed the uniform CPA examination in the first sitting. Ryan oversees the compliance and financial audits for some of the largest and most diverse Tribal organizations in the country. Included in his experience of auditing over sixty gaming organizations, Ryan has also performed extensive audits of tribally sponsored enterprises including hotels, golf courses, RV parks, retail outlets, and many other diverse tribal enterprises.

Ryan has also lectured on governmental accounting and auditing, tribal-state gaming compact accounting issues, net win accounting, and audit issues specific to tribal governments for the firm, tribal councils and commissions, financial institutions, NIGA (National Indian Gaming Association) Certified Training Sessions, various State Divisions of Gaming, numerous tribal gaming regulator associations, and for accounting students at the University of Nevada.

In addition to performing audit and review engagements, Ryan has also performed numerous other consulting and attestation engagements for Tribes. Some of these projects include assistance with the placement of debt instruments, fraud examinations, financial reporting under GASB 34, employee exit reviews, consultation and audit for employee benefit plans, and review of internal control systems.

Ryan is a member of the AICPA, Nevada Society of CPAs, and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and has thirteen years of experience in exclusively auditing Tribal governments and enterprises.
